While we await spring’s arrival…the transeasonal sartorial conundrum is solved.

Spring and autumn are arguably the most difficult seasons to dress for in London…you do literally live through four seasons in one day sometimes, and this year it is no different..

As April drew to a close, noticeably without that many of the infamous April showers…May arrives wet and dull. Now, I am not one to usually talk about the weather much, I am not British, you see; but when you work in fashion, it is inevitable to notice how much the weather can influence one’s mood in the mornings…
The simple wake up in the morning grab your three layers and favourite coat winter routine or the grab a dress and pretty sandal summer one, don’t apply during transeasonal times…The mornings become a battlefield of arguments, ok, all in my own head, about how many layers will I need? How thick must they be? Open toe sandals or back to boots?
And this year, well, I had enough. So I have compiled here a come what may (excuse the pun) guide to this month’s moody blues.

School run:
– jeans, espadrilles, top and cropped jacket.
Lunch with girlfriends:
-jeans, heels, top and cropped jacket.
Office meeting:
-slim leg trousers or pencil skirt, heels, top and cropped jacket.
Cocktail and dinner:
-dress, heels and cropped jacket.

Get the hint? Forget the tired trench coat. Your best friend during these difficult sartorial times of the year, is a cropped jacket. Invest in the absolute best your money can buy, because looks are one thing but quality of fit and fabric are priceless, and quite another.

Flavia. Xx.
