Beachwear for grown ups…

So, just as I’d resigned to the fact that my summer holidays this year would be a three weeks road trip around California – an old wish of my husband’s, with not much time spent on beaches per se… one of my dearest friends drops the bomb: come to Ibiza for a pre-California girl’s week in my villa!!

I went from completely ignoring the beachwear section of the sales to a frantic shopping spree for new swimwear and cover ups – 3 seconds flat.

Luckily for me, the UK weather has not played ball and therefore it has not yet enticed many beachwear shoppers to hit the buy button. Hence, I found plenty of good buys still to be had.

As a Brazilian 45+ woman, it is probably easier for me to argue that a bikini is endlessly more flattering to a normal woman’s body than a one piece swimsuit..I know, I know, but can you disagree?

Starting with the fact that only tall women really achieve the much admired elegance a one piece can bring to the poolside, but that is just that. Poolside elegance, for show, not for real life. A white stomach and a shortened body are too great negative side effects to ignore. Then add to it the fact that a one piece swimsuit immediately shouts: ” I am self conscious”, it is therefore just a huge turn off for me.

So this week my delivery van is filled with the following:

Have fun.

I hope you’ll have fun away from this awful weather and even more awful political news! I’m usually into bikinis but this year I’ve fallen in love with Eres one piece in black which looks like it should belong to a movie star :)

Eres are one of the most fabulous swimwear collections. Made to last for years and really worth the price tag…Enjoy. xx.
